Amidst the growing tension between Indo-Pak, a number of Bollywood celebrities have come forward and expressed their thoughts on the ban on Pakistani artists in India.
Recently, another famous Bollywood celebrity Dia Mirza expressed her views about the ban.
While talking about the ban, the actress said that it is detrimental to both countries and only expressing to the world how fearful India is.
She said:
Art always suffers at the hands of fear… but also art is also reunited and refuelled because of fear. I believe that these prejudices that have been imposed on us, not just take us away from our neighbours, it takes us away from ourselves.
She further added:
And when we deny ourselves the opportunity to communicate and exchange. We are only expressing to the world how fearful we are.
The Sanju actress is currently playing the role of a Pakistani in web-series Kaafir. The web-series revolves around a Pakistani girl and her child who are held as prisoners and how a journalist tries to get them justice.
While talking about her intense role, Dia Mirza added:
There were times during the shooting when the shot was over, the camera was off and I was still in the character and broke down crying. My director would come, hug me and we would cry together.
