Today, Pakistan educational minister Shafqat Mahmood carried out press conference. Giveaway points from the press-conference of Shafqat Mahmood regarding the fate of students going to school and preparing for exams:
– Classes 1 to 8 will remain closed in the districts affected due to COVID-19 until April 28.
– Board exams for classes 9, 10 and 11 examinations will be held from the 3rd week of May.
– CAIE exams will be held as per schedule.
– Classes from 9 to 12 will continue to take place as usual, with strict adherence to precautionary SOPs.
After this conference, Group of students of the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) system staged a protest against the planned O and A Level examinations in April and May. They said that they were not going to attend exams in classes because they had spent the entire year training online. In view of this pandemic, students protesting and their relatives requested that the federal government suspend the CAIE exams and demanding that Teacher assessed grades be given.
