Murtaza Wahab, the administrator of Karachi and the spokesperson for the Sindh government, announced on Saturday that the Shaheed-e-Millat underpass in the city would be named after legendary comedian Umer Sharif, who passed away on Saturday.
“In recognition of the services rendered by late Umer Sharif, KMC will name its underpass at the intersection of Shaheed e Millat and Hyder Ali Roads as “Umer Sharif Underpass,” the administrator of Karachi said on Twitter.
Umer Sharif, the legendary comedian, died in Germany at the age of 66, following a lengthy illness. He was best known for his work as a stand-up comedian.
