The Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 are being held in Abu Dhabi and hundreds of nations from around the world have sent their special athletes to compete for gold.
Amongst the hundreds of athletes from the World are a group of Pakistani athletes who are already doing quite well at the Special Olympics. Pakistan has already secured a couple of gold medals alongside several silver and bronze medals in various games held at the Special Olympics.
Last night, however, Pakistan special football team made history by winning a gold medal after defeating Mongolia at the finals. Pakistani team had to win 4 matches before to qualify for the final and they have finally won and secured the gold. Pakistanis are shining at the Special Olympics and it is a pride moment for us as a nation to see these special young athletes making a big contribution to Pakistan’s name at the international level. We wish everyone good luck at the Olympics and hope more gold medals are secured before the games finish.
Pakistan Medal Winners In Special Olympics 2019
- The Pakistani special athletes are performing brilliantly at the special Olympics 2019. Here are the medals clinched so far.
- Hur Mushtaq got a gold medal in a 1500-meter race
- Shumaila Arbab also remained successful in bagging a gold medal. She won the 200-meter race.
- Maham Zehra bagged gold in a 2km cycling event
- Imran Ghaffar won the 2km and 5km cycling event
- Farzana Rehmat will also bring home gold with her best performance in shot put event
- Amir Ikhlaq got the second position in the 1500-meter race
- Human Aslam won silver in a 2km cycling event
- Affan bagged four medals in powerlifting with one medal each in the combined squat, bench press, deadlift, and individual events.
- Muneeb Siddiqui and Shanza Munir won silvers in a 50m freestyle swimming event
- Pakistan’s Bocce team, comprising of Hina Arif, Nimra Tariq, Mohammad Anas, and Mohammad Fraz won silver
