One of the most anticipated upcoming movies ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ has been in hot waters ever since it was announced.
The producers of the movie Ammara Hikmat and Bilal Lashari have been facing claims of copyright issues by the producers of the original ‘Maula Jatt’ which was released in 1979.
Last month, the producers initiated a debate around the country when they postponed the film’s release citing strategic reasons.
Soon after, the Lahore High Court (LHC) issued noticed and clarified that there was no stay order against the release of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’.
In a recent development, the Sindh High Court has issued a notice against the party who has been claiming the ownership of the movie.
Producer Ammara Hikmat took to Twitter and wrote:
Sindh High Court has issued a stay order against the party that had been posing for the past 3 yrs as the rightful owner of MJ rights, i.e Mr. Bhatti and clan, restraining them from defaming #TheLegendOfMaulaJatt and its makers. #MaulaJatt.
