It seems like the case against Meesha Shafi by Ali Zafar is going to end soon! Earlier this morning, it has been reported that the Supreme Court directed both parties from filing further “unnecessary applications” against each other.
The apex court also suspended the order made of the Lahore High Court (LHC) which had barred the singer’s counsel from the cross-examination of witnesses.
The top court also issued an order to the singer turned actor Ali Zafar and his counsel to submit statements of witnesses within seven days.
Furthermore, it also ordered Meesha Shafi’s lawyer to prepare for cross-examination of witnesses in seven days.
The Supreme Court advised:
After preparation, counsel should try their best to cross-examine all witnesses on the same day.
Meesha Shafi’s counsel informed the court she does not know all of Zafar’s witnesses, who are also his employees.
On the other hand, Ali Zafar lawyer denied it and said the witnesses are supposed to record testimonies and be cross-examined on the same day.
Last year, the Coke Studio singer Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment which took the social media by storm. Soon after, Ali Zafar took the legal route to deal with the issue and filed a defamation case against the songstress.
