Renowned Pakistani writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has announced to write a play in the style of Turkish play “Ertugrul Ghazi”.
Talking to anchor Kiran Naz on the show, Khalil-ur-Rehman said that he is going to write a story in the style of Ertugrul Ghazi and he intends to make this series in Pakistan.
The Turkish drama serial “Ertugrul Ghazi” based on the Muslim conquests of Muslims in the thirteenth century has set new records of popularity in Pakistan.
Ertugrul Ghazi is not only a popular drama on YouTube but it is also trending on Twitter and YouTube and Pakistani social media is full of characters and dialogues of this drama.
In just two weeks, “Ertugrul Ghazi” has become as popular in Pakistan as it was in five years in Turkey.
In view of the growing popularity of Ertugrul Ghazi, Bol’s anchor Naz invited Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar to his talk show and asked him if he was thinking of working on such a story. To which Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said, “Of course I am thinking and 3 days ago I also talked to Humayun Saeed on this subject after which we decided to work on a project like Ertugrul.”
Asked by Bol’s anchor Khalil-ur-Rehman, he added, ” I’m not just thinking, I’m starting to write this project from the next day.”
It should be noted that “Ertugrul Ghazi” broke all records of popularity in Pakistan. The first episode of the drama has been viewed more than 13 million times in just two weeks on PTV’s YouTube channel. The first episode of this drama was watched 12 million times in 5 years in Turkey.
