This past weekend, Israel played host to the 70th annual Miss Universe 2021 pageant, which featured 80 of the world’s most beautiful women. There were several stages to the pageant, including a display of national costumes, swimsuits, and public speaking.

Harnnaz Sandhu, of India, was crowned Miss Universe at the 70th edition of the pageant, held this past weekend in Israel. Andrea Meza of Mexico, the reigning Miss Universe, crowned the 21-year-old on Sunday night, leaving her in tears of joy. In the final three, Sandhu beat out Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane and Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira.
Many contestants, meanwhile, boycotted the pageant in protest of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. Aside from Miss South Africa, all of these entrants had their governments’ full support withdrawn from them. Viewers were mesmerised by the final 10 contestants’ stunning gold, silver, and bronze gowns.
