Hum TV’s latest Ramadan serial, Chand Tara, is currently airing and has been the talk of the town among drama enthusiasts. Starring Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor in lead roles, the drama revolves around their love journey. The serial also features Aashir Wajahat and Maha Hassan in supporting roles. It airs daily at 9:00 pm, written by Saima Akram Chaudhry and directed by Danish Nawaz, and is a Momina Duraid Productions presentation.
Chand Tara Fails to Impress the Viewers
Despite the presence of popular actors like Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor, Chand Tara has failed to impress many viewers. Some have taken to social media to express their disappointment, stating that the serial is just another Ramadan drama and lacks the charm of previous ones like Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke.
Public views on Chand Tara
According to a social media user, “People who already watched Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke won’t like these new shows that much. Those dramas were the greatest comedy dramas. No Ramadan drama can match their level.”

Another user criticized Ayeza Khan’s portrayal of a doctor, stating, “Ayeza Khan as a doctor is giving me very funny vibes. She could not showcase the character; doctors are never like this. She needs to learn how to act like a doctor, at least. It has forced comedy and regular dialogues. I think Sehar Khan’s acting is much better than her in Fairy Tale. New faces have a lot of potential but are given so much less projects like overhyped superstars.”
However, some viewers have speculated that the reason for their lack of engagement with the serial could be due to growing older, and hence, not being able to connect with the new characters. One social media user commented, “We are not being able to connect with these new characters, or maybe we have grown older now. I miss Chupke Chupke and Hum Tum.”
Story and Acting of Chand Tara is Questionable
Some viewers have also criticized the overall acting and dialogue delivery of the cast, stating that the serial lacks the humor and entertainment value of previous Ramadan dramas. A social media user commented, “In the series, all characters were trying hard to make people laugh, but sadly, they are unsuccessful. It was very disappointing. The best was Suno Chanda.”
Response from Writer of Chand Tara
In response to criticism, Saima Akram Chaudhry, the writer of the serial, announced that Chand Tara is her last Ramadan play.
Despite the mixed response, Chand Tara remains a popular serial and is being watched by many fans of Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor. Whether or not it will be able to match the level of previous Ramadan dramas remains to be seen.
