Singer Aima Baig has taken legal action against a local media outlet for publishing false and defamatory news. The media outlet had dug up an old interview of Baig and reported that she had a crush on her elder brother, which prompted Aima Baig legal notice.

Baig shared pictures of the legal notice on her Instagram story and urged her industry colleagues to take a stand against fake reporting.
Defamation Suit and Damages
The legal notice demanded Rs100 million in damages and an unconditional, written apology from the publication within 48 hours. The apology should also be published on all their social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

The false news report should also be deleted from their platforms. The notice stated that the media outlet had purposely lied to the public with the malicious intention to defame Baig.
It also highlighted that the media outlet had distorted the content of the interview and misapplied it to tarnish Baig’s reputation and fame.
