Fawad Alam, the star batsman of the Pakistan cricket team, has become a proud father of a baby boy. He announced the happy news on his Instagram account on Monday, July 26, 2023.
Fawad Alam Welcomes a Baby Boy
The 37-year-old cricketer posted a sweet picture of himself holding his newborn son in his arms. He captioned the photo with a grateful message, saying:
“How can I thank this grace, Allah Almighty has also blessed with His another blessing. Please remember us in your prayers.”
Fawad Alam’s Instagram post received thousands of likes and comments from his fans and fellow cricketers, who congratulated him and wished him and his family all the best.

Fawad Alam’s Career
Fawad Alam comes from a cricketing family and was born to a Pakistani first-class cricketer, Tariq Alam. His paternal uncle, Rafat Alam, and his maternal uncle, Waheed Mirza, also played first-class cricket for Pakistan. He is also a cousin of the English Test cricketer, Usman Afzaal.
Fawad Alam made his first-class debut at the age of 17 and soon impressed everyone with his batting skills. He was selected to represent Pakistan at the U-19 World Cup in 2006, where he played a crucial role in guiding Pakistan to the title.
He made his international debut for Pakistan in May 2007 in an ODI against Sri Lanka. He also played in the World T20 Championship later that year. He scored his maiden ODI century against Sri Lanka in 2009 and made his Test debut in the same year against the same opposition. He scored a magnificent 168 in his first Test innings, becoming the first Pakistani to score a century on debut in an away Test series.
However, Fawad Alam faced many ups and downs in his career and was often overlooked by the selectors despite his consistent performances in domestic cricket. He returned to Pakistan’s Test team after a gap of 88 Tests and more than 10 years in August 2020 against England. Since then, he has scored five Test centuries and has become an integral part of Pakistan’s middle order.
Fawad Alam is also an actor and has appeared in several TV dramas and web series. He is known for his Ertugrul Gazi-type signature style celebration, which he emulated from the Turkish historical drama series Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

Fawad Alam married Samreen Fawad, the daughter of former Pakistan Test cricketer Mansoor Akhtar, in November 2011. They have a daughter named Fatima, who was born in 2018. Their son is their second child.
